Professional Home Based Care for the Wollongong Area

When starting our business, we had a clear mandate to provide services by staff that had qualifications and skills to ensure that clients would receive the best care possible. All our staff have a minimum of Certificate III in an Aged Care or Disability discipline.

All our Staff are under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and we always have Registered Nurses available for any questions on the many complex issues that can arise.

All Professional Staff are registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).

Ongoing education

South Coast Home Health Care has an Education program for staff to ensure that care practices are up to date and relevant. Each year an Education Calendar is developed with input from both Management and more importantly, staff. We also have mandatory Education for 1st Aid Certificate, CPR and Manual Handling.

South Coast Home Health Care has two Certified Trainers, both Registered Nurses, who work with staff and outside organisations to ensure our Education Program encompasses current best practice.

Prior to employment all staff must have a Current Police Record Check and Working With Children Certificates.

We have a robust recruitment process to ensure that staff are reliable and suitable to provide the high standard of care we demand. No staff are employed until current work references are contacted and assessed.

Prior to providing and services in the community, all staff must attend an Orientation Program. This program is designed to ensure new staff are aware of our Policies and Procedures, follow WHS protocols and understand the high level of services that our clients expect and we demand.
We also have a Code of Conduct that all staff must adhere to, which includes, Personal and Professional Behaviour, Public Comment, Discrimination and Harassment, Fairness and Equity, Confidentiality, Conflict of Interest, Identification.
